Estimate scope
This calculation does not estimate income tax, tax deductions, future earnings, or official Uber statement totals. It does not subtract Uber fees again from trip earnings entered after those fees.
How it works
How Uber driver earnings work
Earnings for a period can contain trip earnings, tips, and promotions or bonuses. This calculator adds those amounts to produce gross driver earnings. Promotional earnings vary, and the result is based only on the actual period you enter rather than a guarantee of future income.
Trip earnings versus rider payments
A rider's payment is not necessarily the same as the trip earnings credited to a driver. Enter trip earnings after Uber service fees already deducted, where applicable, and do not subtract those fees a second time. Driver earnings information, bank deposits, and annual tax summaries may organize or report amounts differently.
Gross earnings and estimated net earnings
Gross driver earnings equal trip earnings plus tips plus promotions and bonuses. Estimated net earnings subtract fuel, maintenance and wear, and other entered operating expenses. Expenses can exceed earnings, so the calculator preserves a negative net result rather than replacing it with zero.
Why online hours and total miles matter
Net earnings per hour use total relevant online or work time, including waiting and pickup time. Net earnings per mile use relevant total miles, including pickup and repositioning driving. Using passenger time or passenger miles alone can make profitability appear higher than it was.
Operating costs and calculation scope
Fuel, maintenance, parking, eligible unreimbursed tolls, and other driving costs reduce the amount kept from the period. Enter each cost once. This calculator does not estimate tax deductions, income tax, official Uber totals, or guaranteed take-home pay.

Frequently asked questions
Should trip earnings include Uber service fees?
Enter the trip earnings credited to you after Uber service fees already deducted, where applicable. Do not subtract those fees again in this calculator. Rider payments, driver earnings information, deposits, and tax summaries can represent different totals.
Should I add tips and promotions separately?
Yes. Enter tips and promotions or bonuses in their separate fields when they are not already included in trip earnings. Do not add surge earnings a second time if your trip earnings already include them.
Why should I use total online or work hours?
Online time can include waiting, pickup, and trip time. Using only passenger trip time can overstate hourly earnings because it leaves out other time spent working during the same earnings period.
Which miles should I enter?
Enter relevant total driving for the period, including pickup and repositioning mileage when applicable. Passenger miles alone may understate the vehicle use required to produce the entered earnings.
What happens when completed trips is zero?
Zero trips is allowed for a period containing adjustments, tips, or promotional earnings. The average gross earnings per trip is shown as N/A because division by zero would not produce a meaningful rate.
Is estimated net earnings taxable income or take-home pay?
No. It is a pre-income-tax operating estimate based only on the earnings and expenses entered. It is not an official Uber statement, a taxable-income calculation, tax advice, or a prediction of future earnings.
